Providers: Is This Conference Right for You?
This conference will help you, and your team. It will help you get more children into holiday, breakfast and after school clubs; create new settings if you are planning to grow; it will help you recruit, retain and manage staff so they do what you want them to do; it will help you to improve your business processes; get ready for Ofsted; improve your approach to diversity, equality and inclusion, and it could help you improve lives - not only now, but for generations to come. Plus, you will be able to share your thoughts with DfE about the manifesto pledge about breakfast clubs.
The conference programme has been curated to bring together the brightest minds.
Some you may know. Some may be new. All will encourage you to think differently.
It is only two years since this conference was launched with an attempt to ‘Bring the Forgotten Sector Together’. So much has changed since then. We now have the biggest investment for decades with the £289 million National Wraparound Childcare Programme specifically aimed at growing and expanding the market.
One of the key ambitions is for provision to be sustainable at the end of the funding programme. That ambition has underpinned our 2024 theme, Creating Sustainable Futures. Our keynote speakers will not only help you understand the impact of this programme, to consider your approach to sustainability, it will also support you to benefit from policy changes. And in a Club Central first, you will have the opportunity to hear directly from Ofsted about the initiatives they are working on.
And, we are delighted Mo Kanjilal, a TedX speaker is joining us to share her experience in creating diverse, inclusive environments - she is a truly inspirational speaker. Plus we will be joined by sector expert and the only Doctor in Playwork in the world, Dr Shelly Newstead who will be asking ‘Are We Getting it Right Yet?’
Improve Profitability/Sustainability Through Increased Holiday, Breakfast and After School Club Attendance
The track sessions will help you to challenge, review and improve your practice. Imagine using the play and playwork skills you learn to put play at the heart of your club delivered by the legendary Wendy Russell. You embrace curiosity. You make playful play spaces. You reconsider what ‘quality’ is and how we balance standards against children’s needs. You make your setting more welcoming. Diversity is embraced. You use fully inclusive language. You play differently. Children undertake different activities. And, this year we have got a practical and highly regarded workshop to Make Food Fun.
Children want to come back again, and again, and again!
The Impact: Bringing more children into your club improves your financial stability
These figures presume you have capacity, do not need to change ratios and charge £25 per holiday club day.
One extra child per day generates an additional £1,625 profit per year (1 child x 13 weeks x 5 days x £25 profit)
Two extra children per day £3,250
Three extra children per day £4,875
With just one additional child per day, you have easily paid for your conference ticket, travel and accommodation for yourself and your team!
Or is your challenge recruitment and retention?
Then you need to attend our session on how your recruitment process could improve staff retention. Or consider how you embrace neuro-inclusion with the added benefit of making your club more neuroinclusive to children. Being short staffed is more than a logistical nightmare, it costs you money!

Or, perhaps you feel you know you could be more inclusive, but you don’t know how?

The conference programme has you covered! From the use of inclusive language, to the benefits of neuro-inclusive teams, to creating kinder, more confident inclusive environments to a thought-provoking session about whether you really are fully inclusive you will come away with fresh approaches and practical steps to take.
