Why Attend Club Central

Conference & OSCAs 2024

The Club Central Conference will help your business.

  • Whatever your challenge. Whatever your vision.

Whether you want to grow, improve, sell, refresh or revive your club, the conference will help.

It will help you get more children into your holiday, breakfast and after school clubs; it will help you recruit, retain and manage staff so they and your organisation thrives; it will help you to improve your business processes; get ready for inspection, and much more!

You will be best placed to take advantage of the National Wraparound Childcare Programme.

  • Remember when the sector described itself as forgotten? It's not anymore!

It’s only 2 years since the first Club Central conference. At that time we were desperate for investment. We needed recognition. We were crying out for a bit of support. Well, now we have a two-year programme of investment coming into the sector. And now is the time to ensure we are maximising what it means for providers. The programme talks about sustainability - how do we create and deliver sustainable provision? How do we recruit? How do we market ourselves to increase numbers. And, what does innovation in wrapround provision actually mean?

And, you will have an opportunity to meet and speak to the DfE's Breakfast Clubs Team about the manifesto commitment to provide free breakfast clubs in all primary schools. DfE are keen to hear from you about your current before school childcare provision and gather feedback on barriers and opportunities for the new breakfast clubs programme.

Refresh Your Thinking

  • Want to achieve different results, but don't know how?

Remember why you started your business? You were full of passion and enthusiasm. When you attend the conference, you will regain that enthusiasm. You will be brimming with new ideas. You won’t be able to wait until you get back to your club to try something new! The programme covers the practical, to the theoretical. Children, team, business. We will help you enjoy every element of your business!

You will meet others with similar challenges, experiences and passion

  • Share ideas. Network with peers. Discuss challenges.

This is the only national opportunity for providers to get together and to share their experiences. To understand they are not alone in their challenges. To find answers to their burning questions. To connect.

And it’s not just before- and after-school - HAF still presents opportunities for the sector

  • Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) is Still Going Strong

Whether you are new to HAF, or have been providing it for some time, there are still great opportunities for providers to engage with this programme which offers fully funded places for children from low-income families.

Influence Policy

  • Network with people at the forefront of policy-making

The good news is we are no longer forgotten. The less good news is that with change comes uncertainty. The conference is your opportunity to connect with those who can influence policy. We were delighted with the wording in the policy announcements. It was evident that the Department for Education had listened to provider fears. But this work has only just started. Now we are on the radar, we need to first of all stay there, and ensure that any changes are for the good.

Improve finances and sustainability

  • Learn Hints, tips and tricks to make your busines run more effectively and efficiently.

Let our conference sessions help you.

Make your company a better place to work

  • Out-of-school clubs are reliant on the quality of their team. When they perform, the club performs.

Recruitment, retention, motivation, leadership and management, processes and workflows, supervisions and appraisals. When you get this right, your team will fly. Our expert speakers will give you practical hints and tips to help you and your team flourish. And it is not just about your team. Make it a better place for you too! When a team is firing on all cylinders it makes your role more satisfying and fulfilling.

Take Time to Celebrate and Reflect

  • Let's take time to celebrate what is great about our sector.

It can sometimes feel challenging to be a provider, so let’s take time to celebrate. The dedication of our teams. The experiences we give to children. The support for working parents. Meet other providers. Talk. Share. Celebrate!

Learn new skills and strategies to keep your practice fresh.

  • Let's not forget the children!

Children are the reason people come into the sector, so take time to reflect on your practice, learn new skills and generate ideas.

Be intrigued. Be informed. Be inspired.
