Abstract
In this session Ruth will provide an update on progress to deliver the National Wraparound Childcare Programme which began at the start of this academic year. You will hear details of how government, working with local authorities, are working to ensure there is sufficient wraparound provision to meet local needs and sure-up the system in anticipation of the government’s ambition to rollout free breakfast clubs in every primary school.

Biography
Ruth Jesson-Smith is the Head of the Wraparound Childcare Programme Design and Delivery Unit at the Department for Education. Her team is responsible for delivering on the government’s expansion of wraparound childcare places for parents who need it across England from September 2024.
